For most of my life, I never viewed myself as a fit person. While I became fit from time to time, it largely was not sustainable, and was not part of my identity. After 17+ years of daily physical activity, and progressively better nutrition, I finally feel strong, fit, and vital.
In 2004, I hit a low point at 36 years old: everything hurt; I could not jog for 1 block. At that point, in desperation, I started Body for Life – one of those 12 week transformation programs that are so prevalent these days. I had a successful transformation, but I could not sustain it. I did continue to be an active person from that point on. I turned to running and discovered hot yoga, but never really locked down a program that made me feel consistently strong, fast and healthy.
Something needed to change, so I signed up to receive Precision Nutrition Coaching. I’d gotten Level 1 certified in their program and knew what to do, I just was not doing it on my own. Having a coach made all of the difference. I have finally built the exercise and nutrition habits that make staying fit sustainable and fun.
I completed my Precision Nutrition Level 2 certification to better support others on their personal fitness and nutrition journeys.
